The Emanuel S. Georges Papers consist of notebooks, classroom notes, material used while an undergraduate and graduate student at Washington University and as a postgraduate student at the University of California, Berkeley.

The collection consists of ten items, including a copy of the film “Carl Schurz Tour of American Professors and Students, Germany 1934,” facsimiles of the tour itinerary and Walter Rist’s travel diary from the tour, and photographs of the tour group.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains a list of the executive committee members, from 1911-1962, as well as the meeting minutes, club members, and notices, dating from 1936-1962.  It also contains three copies of the Constitution and Bylaws of the club and the original constitution and meeting minutes from the early years of the club. The constitution lists the managing members of the club from 1903-1904, suggesting that these were the founding years of the club.
